The questions that decide it

Grouped by who is asking. Skip to the part that sounds like you rather than reading someone else’s concerns.

§ 01 / 04Before you contact us

Before you contact us

If you are deciding whether this is worth a call.

What does the free build plan actually include?

Thirty minutes on a call with your analytics open on screen. We map where enquiries come from and where they stall, name the first fix, and give you the order of work in writing. You keep the document whether or not you hire us.

Is this a sales call in disguise?

It ends with a recommendation, and often that recommendation is one small fix rather than a project. We take the call because roughly a third of them turn into work later, not because all of them do.

We are small. Are we too small for you?

The smallest sensible starting point is discovery at $2,400. Below that, the honest answer is usually a specific tool and an afternoon, and we will name it on the call rather than sell you a project.

How fast do you reply?

Within one business hour, US Central. If we cannot start for weeks, we say that in the first reply rather than after a discovery call.

§ 02 / 04Money and contracts

Money and contracts

If you are comparing vendors.

Why is discovery paid when others do it free?

Because ours produces a document you can hand to another vendor. Free discovery is either shallow or it is a sales call with a different name, and in both cases you leave with nothing you can act on.

What happens if the estimate turns out to be wrong?

We absorb the first 15% of an overrun. Beyond that we stop and re-plan with you before spending more of your money. Scope that grows becomes a separate, separately priced piece rather than quietly extending the current one.

Can we stop mid-project?

Thirty days notice, no exit fee. The repository, accounts, and documents are already yours, so stopping leaves you with what has been built rather than with nothing.

Do you take equity or revenue share?

No. It sounds aligned and rarely is: it pushes a vendor toward work that looks good this quarter rather than work that lasts.

§ 03 / 04How the work runs

How the work runs

If you will be the one managing this.

How much of our time does this take?

One 30-minute call a week, plus about two hours during discovery. We cancel the call when there is nothing to decide, and send a written update every Friday regardless.

Who actually does the work?

A named engineer and, where marketing is involved, a named marketer. You meet them before the contract. We do not subcontract without telling you who and why.

Can our team change the site after handover?

That is the requirement we build to. Text, prices, images, menu items, and page structure are edited from an admin panel in plain language, with a written guide inside the panel itself. Changing a price takes no developer hours.

What if we want to hire our own developer later?

The runbook is written for someone who has never met us, and the stack is chosen for hiring pool rather than for our preference. That is deliberate: a vendor who is hard to replace has solved the wrong problem.

§ 04 / 04Technical and legal

Technical and legal

If you are checking the details.

Who owns the code and the accounts?

You do, from the first commit. The repository sits on your account and ad, analytics, and hosting accounts are in your name with us added as users. Nothing stops working if you stop working with us.

How do you handle privacy and consent?

Marketing and analytics tags stay off until a visitor agrees, and refusing is as easy as agreeing. Consent text, version, and timestamp are stored with the record. Personal data never goes into URLs or query parameters.

Is our data used to train AI models?

No, not without a written agreement naming exactly what and why. Assistants we build answer from your documents through retrieval, which does not require training on them.

Do you sign NDAs and DPAs?

Yes, before discovery. We read them rather than sign blind, and we flag anything unusual instead of agreeing and hoping it never comes up.

Question not here?

Ask it on the call. Thirty minutes, and you keep the written answer.
